I'm Going Home

I'm staring out into the night,
Trying to hide the pain.
I'm going to the place where love
And feeling good don't ever cost a thing.
And the pain you feel's a different kind of pain.

Well I'm going home,
Back to the place where I belong,
And where your love has always been enough for me.
I'm not running from.
No, I think you got me all wrong.
I don't regret this life I chose for me.
But these places and these faces are getting old,
So I'm going home.
Well I'm going home.

The miles are getting longer, it seems,
The closer I get to you.
I've not always been the best man or friend for you.
But your love, it makes true.
And I don't know why.
You always seem to give me another try.

So I'm going home,
Back to the place where I belong,
And where your love has always been enough for me.
I'm not running from.
No, I think you got me all wrong.
I don't regret this life I chose for me.
But these places and these faces are getting old,
So I'm going home.
I'm going home.

Be careful what you wish for,
'Cause you just might get it all.
You just might get it all,
And then some you don't want.
Be careful what you wish for,
'Cause you just might get it all.
You just might get it all, yeah.

Oh, well I'm going home,
Back to the place where I belong,
And where your love has always been enough for me.
I'm not running from.
No, I think you got me all wrong.
I don't regret this life I chose for me.
But these places and these faces are getting old.
I said these places and these faces are getting old,
So I'm going home.
I'm going home.

I thought I had to have an account to leave a message - now I know I do not. I've been reading your blog for awhile now (since I found out about it).
I've read through your story at Road 2 Canada & quite honestly - it has me scared for my own immigration.
I wish you all the luck with your move & all the best with your new job & home.

Fortunately for everyone else, my experience with CIC seems to be not the norm. I am not trying to discourage anyone from pursuing Canadian PR and citizenship, but rather just make them aware of what can happen. Canada is not for me and I am just unwilling to put my life on hold any longer. My time is much more important to me for that.

Have you given up the blog now that you are back in the states?
Hope you are settling in okay & like your new job.

Hopefully US immigration won't drag its feet like CIC did.

Nope, I haven't given up the blog, it just took a few weeks to get 'net installed at home and I am still settling in (trying to populate my new apartment with furniture and such). I, with all luck, will be posting again by this weekend. Hope things are well with you Derby!
